Time: 1:30am – Yesterday
Sometimes time gets away from me; that’s my excuse for forgetting to plan this week’s post. It didn’t speed up or slow down (to my knowledge), it just got away. But how does time get away? The construct or essence of time doesn’t change when we’re busy. Our perception of time might change, but in my own experience, it doesn’t change that much. I think the answer isn’t that time gets away, but that priorities do.
Last week was intense. I signed a new apartment lease and moved into said apartment during the subsequent 72 hours. On top of that, I worked my day job, packed for the move, attended a few extraneous meetings. I got a little writing in, both music writing and word writing, but not enough of either. Because time, well, you know.
Had I approached the week with a better understanding and potential allocation of my time, I may have been able to achieve more productivity. But the truth is, time gets away from me every week.
I am in pursuit of more time, however. Should I find any, I’ll let you know.
Enjoy an unrelated video of one of my favorite guitarists’ performances.
