My friend Tim

"If we’re lucky, occasionally we get to work with someone where the connection is so strong, a relationship develops that transcends our professional lives. That happened to me shortly after being introduced to Tim Smith.  Tim was our very first Daily Fuel interview, and after getting to know him and the work he was doing at the agency he led, Skidmore Studios, we hired him to advance Fuel’s concept.  If you’re enjoying the Daily Fuel on a regular basis please know you have Tim to thank for much of it, as his vision and guidance were paramount to what Fuel has become.

Tim recently passed away, suddenly, of cardiac arrest.  He was 54. He was someone I loved, and someone I feel indebted to for all he did, for both Fuel, and the creative community throughout metropolitan Detroit.  Today's Daily Fuel video is just one example of how valuable Tim’s contribution was toward our understanding of established brands, the millennial mindset, and the modern world of commerce and careers . . . a torch Fuel will continue to carry as we strive to Make Work Better.  My hope is sharing Tim’s wisdom will not only enrich your understanding of these topics, but will also allow you to understand why Tim enriched our lives to the incredible extent he did."
